What is a Birthday Party?
"A birthday party is a celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the person who is being honored. Birthday parties are a feature of many cultures.
Decorations:
In Western cultures, particularly in the United States and Australia, birthday parties are often accompanied by colorful decorations, such as balloons, streamers, party hats, horns and sometimes pinatas.

Around the world many variations on the birthday cake, or rather the birthday pastry or sweets, exist." "Birthday cakes are common to most Western birthday celebrations. In many cultures, a birthday cake is a must for children's birthdays and many times take the form of a favorite cartoon character.

While the birthday cake is being brought to the table, the song "Happy Birthday to You" is sung by the guests.
Party Location:
A child’s birthday party may be held at his/her home or in a public place such as a park or fast food restaurant which holds childrens birthday parties. Pizza parlors are a favorite location for children's parties. Adults’ birthday parties in Western countries are often held in bars or nightclubs. Wealthy people and celebrities may hire an event management agency or a party service to organize a birthday party.

• Table food: both sweet and savory foods are typically served to guests. Chip-n-dip, nachos & cheese, tortillas and salsa, cheeseballs & crackers are all popular party foods.
