  National Frozen Yogurt Day!
Are you celebrating one of the National Holiday?  This page will help make all your celebrations a delicious experience; by learning about yogurt!

When is National Yogurt Day? Always  June 4??
Note: The actual date of this holiday is not clear- Each year we find it listed as being celebrated by more than one date- It is possible that this is a movable holiday which means the date will always change from year to year but we have yet to find documentation to support that-

National Frozen Yogurt Month is the whole month of June
If we honor yogurt the whole month of June, then why do we also have a national yogurt day in the very same month? Do you have the answers? Let us know-
see National Frozen Yoghurt Month for a frozen yogurt recipe-
This holiday was first made popular in the United States-

What is this Holiday about? This holiday is about bringing awareness to those who have not yet tired frozen yogurt by making some homemade and sharing it by way of a yogurt party. Yogurt parties can be nice little quiet parties just between family or it can be a real big yogurt party that's full of many varieties of yogurt to sample and enjoy!

Origin of this Holiday
Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We did however find that this holiday has been celebrated for years. There is plenty of documentation to support that this holiday does indeed exist. This is referred to as a "National" day. However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though, this is still a holiday to celebrate.

We found recognition about this holiday from:
Calendar sites and personal Internet sites that blog and share information about this holiday.

What is frozen yogurt?
"Frozen yogurt (also frozen yoghurt, froyo, frogurt,) is a frozen dessert made from or containing yogurt or other dairy products. Frozen yogurt is similar to ice cream, but lower in fat (due to the use of milk instead of cream) and slightly more tart."

"Although frozen yogurt has been made since at least the 1970s, it did not become especially popular until the 1980s. When frozen yogurt was introduced in the 1970s as a healthier alternative to ice cream, it was very different from today's frozen yogurts. Consumers complained about the tart taste and consistency, which was much more similar to ordinary yogurt. Manufacturers then went to work on finding a more viable recipe that consumers would enjoy. Frozen yogurt soon made a comeback in the 1980s, which addressed the multiple issues of frozen yogurt of the 1970s. More recently, frozen yogurt made by Red Mango, Pinkberry, and Cielo has been tarter. Today, both frozen yogurt and sorbet are served as healthier alternatives to ice cream."

"Typically, frozen yogurt consists of fat yogurt, sweetener, gelatin, corn syrup, coloring and flavoring. It is typically made in an ice cream machine and available in a variety of flavors; the most common are typically vanilla and chocolate. Frozen yogurt freezes and melts much slower than ice cream, since yogurt has a much higher enthalpy of fusion than unfermented milk and cream. More recently, probiotic frozen yogurt has seen increased popularity, as many consumers may view yogurt of this variety as being healthier"

What's the #1 food eaten with Ice Cream or Yogurt? It's cake & brownies!

"Frozen Yogurt can be eaten the very same way that ice cream is eaten.  You can add delicious topping like fruit sauce, nuts, chocolate chips, coconut or whipped cream and you will love it just as much as you love ice cream. Yogurt is a bit tart in taste but a lot lower in fat. Frozen yogurt is a healthier alternatives to ice cream."
